Curiosity killed the cat has been a statement that can describe Rosalyn Rochelle Williams-Griffin from around the age of three on. From the stoves of her grandmother, her parents, aunts and uncles as well as any cookbook she put her hands on. What was once considered their recipe she made it her own. She always set out the do the impossible even though she was told that she would not and could not.
Rosalyn has always maintained honors status from elementary through high school. College brought new challenges and changes to her life. Having everything come easy for myself up until this point with the exception of social, psychological and socioeconomic status, obtaining a higher education would be something that would be a challenge. Being the youngest daughter of four children, she was the first to graduate from college. She was also the first to venture out in life and take it head-on.
A few things that Rosalyn has achieved are first and foremost two wonderful sons who has modeled themselves after their mother and the relationship she has with Christ. Who’s who Among American High School Students? She has a chapter in an international global marketing digest, which makes her a published author. She is a teacher, role model, and peer educator to name a few of things she had done. Rosalyn has lectured to college students on varies campuses in Michigan regarding the workplace. She has served on the Governor’s Taskforce and Welfare Reform Committee. Rosalyn is currently an advocate for foster children being that she was a foster child. This is her driving force that gives her the love and passion for families and for young people. Rosalyn lives by a simple little prayer that says, “There is nothing today that you and I together God can not handle.”
Inspired by friend and mentor (Lt. Drew Brown) who stated that EDUCATION + HARDWORK = THE AMERICAN DREAM. I have always thought and continued to see myself in a great position in corporate America but I also strive for excellence in my daily life.
I believe that as an individual I can and will assess all situations on a one on one basis with the contingent to help all that I encounter. I have and currently enjoy working for individuals and on their behalf trying to get the best situation for any problem.
More importantly while all of this is important to her, you can find that her greatest love comes through her stress relieving process of cooking. On any given holiday or Sunday afternoon, if you inhale long enough, smell deeply and look for a friendly smile, you will find that love and hospitality that comes with her food and her family. Everything she cooks, design, develop and bake is with family in mind. Being that family is everything, Rosalyn’s Southern Eats and Treat begins at home. Where heart, love, inspiration and drive bring any of the most enticing, edifying, delectable, and edible food your hearts will desire. Ask her what’s in it and she will simply say love. Just like “Prego” love is in everything she does.
When asked what her specialty is, she is always modest and says “Whatever you like.”
